This mission of mine was the two in one kind. My first objective was to look as normal as possible at my best non-Avian American friend's dad's wedding. My second objective was to look normal while looking for information at their house. I know that sounds really weird but the thing is, and Anya doesn't know this, but her parents were involved in some of the experiments. In other words, they were close friends with the scientists. Let me tell you, going through their basement was a pain in the butt. But I found out a bunch of things. For one, Anya was supposed to be one of us but apparently, my mother was healthier. Not to mention that, under the circumstances, it would have been easier to take me (and Silence) away from our mother than it would have been for Anya's mother. I also found the "terminated" records of failed experiments...including Silence's. (I looked and looked for me and Ray, but there was nothing)
You wouldn't believe some of the things they tried to make: glass-looking people, (the original) tree people, things that looked like Omega, the leopard hybrids before Gemini, dragonfly kids, bees, and spiders even. I think there were rabbit and snake hybrids (both individually and combined) and a lot of the other really weird looking ones that were combinations of the above mentioned. What REALLY intrigued me was that some of them were not stamped with a red TERMINATED sign on it. I wonder if they are still alive...unlikely but it is my next mission...to myself.
I found some indication that Radar exists (well, exists to their knowledge anyway) and that was a bunch of papers with her experiment number on them...a lot with a WARNING label on them. There were some obituaries too. Of scientists. That had been killed. Twenty of them by Radar. The others...well they had been...uh..terminated...after we escaped.
There was obviously nothing about Storm or Sonar (or the others) because their info is still in the actual labs. This stuff wasn't supposed to be kept and their basement was full of it (that and rat droppings and mold...and other junk that had been forgotten down there that I had to dig through) There was one thing on me. A blank page with nothing on it but my experiment number. I took this one because I am going to check it for invisible ink. (I know that this document with my number on it just isn't all because it was in a file, labeled TOP SECRET, by itself, in a safe. (with some other stuff on Silence and Radar that we already know).
I wonder what could possibly be so special about me that they would keep this document in a safe labeled TOP SECRET...WITH stuff on Radar and Silence. This has got to be good. (Although I am a little scared to find out....)
Anyway. Details on the wedding, the attack and the future, coming soon.
Indeed, this is all really strange.
