The First Page (not chapter...it was really long)

The breeze flowed smoothly through the trees, brushing strands of my red hair out of my ponytail and into my face. It was just the five of us this hot summer day and we were having a blast, despite the lack of things to do. Of course, I was higher in the tree than the others were and I could hear them below me, laughing and joking around, trying to catch up to me. I closed my eyes and smiled, listening to every sound. This moment could last forever, for all I cared.
“You guys are slow pokes.” I sighed. I heaved myself over the branch in front of me to stare down at them.
Drake was closest to me in the tree. He was the show-off type and was in constant need of attention. If he wasn’t the center of attention he got irritable and he pouted. He also had a bad habit of stabbing people in the back and, unless you wanted him to tell all of your secrets, you had to pay him with anything from money to information. However, he was a nice person, especially with his close friends, despite the obnoxiousness that drove us all crazy day in and day out. He had helped me out plenty of times and gave surprisingly great advice…if there was something in it for him.
“You had a head start, smarty pants.” He said, hardly out of breath. He flashed one of those cocky smiles of his. His blond hair gleamed in the sun, making him look even more proud than was necessary. I rolled my eyes playfully and glanced down. The others were branches below him, breathing hard and barely visible through the leaves.
“We’re…coming…” Jase’s head popped up through the leaves. He heaved himself onto the branch next to Drake and leaned against the trunk, breathing hard. Jase was the quiet one. Of all of them, he was probably my favorite. That is, he was my favorite if ever the time came for me to have to choose.

There you are people. My first...flashback in my novel. This is before the actually story...like a prolouge but really important to the story...lol
