The Riddle

I bet no one really cares to hear about my bloody boring day so here's the highlights.

I have a ton of homework...again.
I saw the word "ton" spelled "tone" and it really confused me
I wrote a riddle

Take a guess

Pillowed by cushions
With solitude they bring noise
Notes filter through
Drowning chatter, a constant distraction.
It is the teller of stories,
Without Ink, no books, no pen
Like snakes they wind
but they do not hiss. Alone
They are silent and useless Together
they speak and give life
to emotions and words. With one
hand swift movenets make voices
carry just once or more
but not without the deaf
yet open mind.
